Sagamore Spirit Distillery is a distillery that produces American Rye Whiskey under the Sagamore brand and distributes it in the United States and worldwide. With the mission to produce the best Rye Whiskey in the world, Sagamore Spirit Distillery, built in 2017 in Baltimore’s harbor, prides itself on strong local partnerships throughout Maryland. This includes sourcing grain and water, and employing cutting-edge distillation and aging processes. While deeply rooted in the legacy of Maryland Rye, it is inspired today by whiskey enthusiasts worldwide, offering a modern approach to American whiskey. SAGAMORE SMALL BATCH RYE WHISKEY
Our Sagamore Small Batch Rye Whiskey proudly represents a promise fulfilled after opening Sagamore Distillery in 2017. It is our first 100% Maryland made whiskey, now available worldwide.
It starts with our commitment to source high-quality grains through our grainto-glass process and connecting with the local farming community. These grains are used to create our high-rye and low-rye whiskeys that are both triple distilled and matured for 4-6 years before being blended in small 20-barrel batches. The blending of two straight whiskeys gives complexity, while our triple distillation process enhances its distinct smoothness.

SAGAMORE CASK STRENGTH RYE WHISKEY
Our Sagamore Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a blend of straight high-rye and low-rye mash bills aged 4 to 7 years. The 7-year-old contributes deeper chocolate, hazelnut, and molasses characteristics and the 4-year-old adds bright citrus notes and balanced spice. Our distillers select and blend these straight rye whiskies, with an appreciation for the distinct character of each barrel and how it will contribute to the whole. Sagamore Cask Strength is complexly layered, showcasing the transformational art of blending.

SAGAMORE DOUBLE OAK RYE WHISKEY
After aging our straight rye whiskey for 4 to 5 years in high-char new American oak barrels, our distillers transfer the aged whiskey into toasted wave stave barrels for an additional 18 months. The increased surface area of the low-char, medium-plus-toast staves imparts Sagamore Double Oak’s delightful caramel, toffee, hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Our classic Maryland-style rye whiskey is reimagined through this innovative aging process and then proofed with limestone-filtered water from Sagamore Farm. The final spirit is a shining example of old meeting new.
